World modifiers and presets

World settings change how the reference values play out. Presets are Normal, Casual, Easy, Hard, Hardcore, Immersive and Hammer Mode. Choosing a preset replaces previous modifier choices; review individual settings afterwards.

Normal is the baseline. Easy lowers combat pressure and raid frequency; Hard raises them. Casual combines gentler combat, passive enemies, no raids and more resources. Hammer Mode removes material costs for discovered building recipes and also disables raids and unprovoked attacks.

Immersive removes the map and portals. Hardcore increases danger, removes carried equipment and skills on death, and disables the map and portal travel. Check the displayed settings: a preset name is not a substitute for its active options.

Combat and Death penalty are separate controls. Resource Rate changes yields, Raid Rate changes event frequency, and Portals controls teleport restrictions. Portal Items permits otherwise restricted cargo; No portals blocks travel; No boss portals restricts departure during active boss encounters.

The independent toggles are No Build Cost, No Map, Passive enemies and Player based raids. The last uses individual player progress instead of only world boss progress. Free building still requires discovering the recipe. Some modified modes can affect achievement eligibility.

Dedicated-server overrides expose Combat: veryeasy/easy/hard/veryhard; DeathPenalty: casual/veryeasy/easy/hard/hardcore; Resources: muchless/less/more/muchmore/most; Raids: none/muchless/less/more/muchmore; Portals: casual/hard/veryhard. These are command values, not additional presets; apply overrides after the preset.
